Packed is a packing-list app. It needs an email address so you can sign in, and it keeps the lists you write. That is very nearly the whole story, and the rest of this page is the detail.

What Packed keeps
Your email address
So you can sign in and reset your password. You can also give a display name when you sign up, which is optional.
Your lists
Trip names and dates, the items and categories you add, whether each item is packed, and any templates and master categories you save.
Who you share with
If you share a list, Packed records which accounts have access to it, so it can let them in and let you take them back out.
A copy on your device
So the app opens and your lists are there when you have no signal, Packed keeps a copy of them in your browser's storage. It is cleared when you sign out.
What Packed does not do
No ads, and nothing is sold
Your lists are not sold, rented, or handed to anyone for marketing. There is no advertising in Packed and no plan to add any.
No profile of you
Packed does not track you across other websites and does not build a profile from what you pack.
No reading your lists
Nothing analyses the contents of your lists. Importing a spreadsheet happens entirely in your browser, and the file is never uploaded anywhere.
The services Packed runs on
Packed is a small app and it stands on three other companies. They can technically reach the data they hold, which is why they are named here rather than described as “trusted partners”.
Supabase
Stores your account and your lists, and handles signing in.
Vercel
Serves the app. Vercel Analytics counts visits so I can see whether anyone is using Packed. It does not use cookies and does not identify you: it records things like which page was opened, roughly which country from, and what kind of device, and I only ever see the totals.
Resend
Sends the password reset email, and only that. It sees your address at the moment a reset is sent.
Sharing a list
Sharing is off until you turn it on. When you do, Packed makes a link, and anyone who has that link can open the list and edit it once they sign in. Treat it like a key: forward it and you have let that person in. You can turn the link off, which stops anyone new joining, and you can remove people who already have access. Both are in the share sheet on the list.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the account screen in the app, without asking anyone. It is immediate and it cannot be undone. Your trips, templates, master categories and sharing records are deleted with it.
One consequence worth knowing before you do it: a list you own is deleted for everyone you shared it with, not just for you. Lists that other people shared with you are not yours, so those survive, and you simply lose access to them.
Getting in touch
Questions about any of this, or about your data, go to hello@packed.camp. Packed is made by one person, so the answer may take a few days, but it will come from a human.
